Membership Code of Conduct

Real life comes first
We fully acknowledge that people have real lives outside this community, and we strongly believe that real life issues always come first. In case you will be absent or gone for a while, we’d appreciate it if you could be kind enough to inform us ahead of time. It is hard to guess whether you’re just busy preparing for your examinations or perhaps enjoying a well deserved vacation in the Bahamas. A quick and short message in our "Absence room" forum before you go, would be greatly appreciated! When our members disappear without any trace of activity for extended periods of time, and with no warning, we tend to worry for their well being. That is how a healthy family reacts.

Respect
Be respectful towards fellow |SOG| members and non-members. Respect everyone’s differences and treat each other like your family. It is mandatory for all |SOG| members to show absolute respect and tolerance to each other and our allies. There will be disagreements, but respecting one another keeps it from becoming a drama which will NOT be tolerated. If disagreements occur, immediately consult with any of the managers so it can be worked out as soon as possible.

We do NOT tolerate improper and racist behaviour, we take this matter seriously.
If any member is reported for harassment, provocation or bullying of another player, whether In-Game, via Discord, forums, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Etc) or in private messages, immediate actions will be taken as deemed appropriate. This can include bans from accessing our servers, website, or permanent removal from your community membership.

"No Drama" policy
We have Absolute Zero Tolerance for members that are causing issues for other members or non-members of the community as a whole. We are here to have fun, so we kindly request that you behave decently. We understand that there are issues associated with any game, but please do not breed negativity or start arguments, as it will bring everyone down and take away the joy of the game. Our managers are more than happy to address any member’s concerns as long as they are addressed through private messages or private "one on one" discussions on Discord. Not only does this allow us to address your problems quicker and more efficiently, it also prevents arguments and heated, non-constructive debates from breaking out within the community. You will only be warned once by our managers. If you continue to cause drama, you will be permanently removed from the community and banned from accessing our Discord, website, forums and other vital community resources.

Reputation
We are very proud of our community and what we stand for. When you are chatting in game, posting in forums or via other social media platforms, remember that you are doing so in the public domain. Many readers will look upon you as a representative of our community. Please avoid being disrespectful and racist. Once any of our members crosses the line, their action will inadvertently cast a bad light onto our community as a whole. Human nature dictates that onlookers will assume that all of our members behave in that manner. Not only does it damage your reputation, it also damages the community’s reputation as well. If you do something wrong (like causing a flame war or get into a heated argument with other players) please let a manager know about the issue ASAP. If you tell us beforehand, we can better defend you, or at the very least be are aware of it so we are not blindsided when the issue is brought to our attention. If not, then expect the worst. We firmly believe that diplomacy reigns supreme in these circumstances, but there are limits to everything.

Loyalty & Trust
We do our best to keep a tightly knit group of people who care about each other and the community, a common place for us all to gather, relax, enjoy the games, and as a team be united in whatever challenges lay ahead. To this institution we rely on the loyalty of our members to do what is right to further the cause and objective of the community. If the community wins, you win. If we are all in sync and working together as a team then we will all prosper in our adventure. If you are more concerned with yourself, your own needs, then this is NOT the community for you. As a |SOG| member, you agree that you will protect the assets, resources and classified information of our community and will NOT disclose it to anyone outside of the “family”. Any member proven to have breached this agreement will be subject to having their membership terminated immediately and will also receive a lifetime ban from re-joining our community. Your deeds will be relayed to our allies as well.

Parting with our company
You are entitled and permitted to leave the sog-team at any time. We believe in democracy and your wishes must be respected. For clan members, you are encouraged to think very carefully before leaving the clan because if you are looking to re-join again due to unforeseen circumstances on your part, you must submit a new application, go through the whole recruitment process all over again. Needless to mention that there is always the chance of your application being rejected based on your past performance records. Furthermore, we believe like a family, tough times and good times are shared. Therefore commitment would be in question (dependant on circumstances) should you leave and wish to rejoin.
For community site members, if you wish for your account to be removed, please contact a manager who will do this for you. However, we advise you leave it active should you ever wish to return to our site, as removals cannot be reversed.

Our Expectations
We expect all community members to act maturely, follow the codes of conduct, and to respect our communities management. Breaking our rules shows a lack of respect for authority and will be investigated. Be creative and positive! If you have an idea for improvement or any suggestions, please feel free to talk to any manager, or submit your ideas via the relevant forum of our website. A common concept that many clan applicants fail to grasp is that joining a community requires much more commitment than just playing a game. Clan members need to work together for the common good. Once you are a part of our team, you are a part of a much bigger experience than just yourself and there is no point being in a community if you’re not going to attempt to assist or interact with your fellow co-members.
Representing |SOG| is a highly valued privilege that requires a lot of hard work, dedication and has great responsibility. If you are found to be abusing your power by unnecessarily kicking players off from servers, mistreating players, exercising favouritism or harassing anyone for example, you will be subjected to investigation, suspended and/or your clan membership terminated as well as access to all community systems, privileges and services denied.

Fair Play
You are to be the fair player that commends others when outplayed. Never flame or insult others in any circumstance. You want to win? Learn from your mistakes.

Further Rules
Further to the above, you also accept all our detailed specific rules that are contained in our dedicated forum.
