Ready Or Not

Hello everyone.

Ready Or Not will be the spiritual successor to the SWAT game series. You will see a lot of the same gear found in SWAT and from the looks of things more dangerous and adaptive AI adversaries.

I was worried that their developer blogs had hit a stand still as the last one was 4th of July 2017, but now in March their third Dev blog is out, and I'm glad to see they are moving forwards with the project.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you guys have some thoughts about this one as well. Let's discuss!

Matt 15-03-18 08:02 AM

Looks good but I really hope they don't rush this project like the takedown red sabre game that was a massive disappointment.

I'm keeping open minded and the only time I'll get wildly excited would be when the official swat 5 is announced, if ever

Ninwes 15-03-18 08:09 AM

Well it looks promising, but takedown looked promising too and that was a let down.

We will see if it actually comes out

But at the moment they don't have the hardware specs yet, will wait for that.

Columbo 15-03-18 08:20 AM

The devs have a great vision. This project is clearly inspired by the swat series and i hope the game is able to revive tactical shooters.

But i'm rather sceptical, until we see some actual gameplay material - the game is far from Release.

So many developers promised to "reinvent" the tactical shooter scene, but none of them couldn't deliver so far.
Just remember the kickstarter failure "Takedown: Red Sabre". But also games like "C.T.U.", "Epsilon" or "Ground Branch" simply couldn't hold up to the promises been made.

That the development takes some more time is okay for me, as long as the final product is properly polished.

Orion 15-03-18 03:45 PM

Nah I would go for early access. First of all youll see how it goes and what shape it get. Also can work it out with devs by feedback. Look at Escape from Tarkov- great game and in early access, where they adding new features and making the shape of future game. Its heavily depends on devs of course. But I would go for players fan base feedback.

Black 15-03-18 11:14 PM

I'm not yet convinced they will be able to pull it off, but their work so far certainly shows some promise. The lack of communication makes it harder to judge at this stage, but either way I'll certainly keep an eye on this.

Hey Columbo, it is not fair to call "Ground Branch" with the other crappy games u mentioned. GB is still in Alpha, it has a very low tempo on development and it is far outstanding. GB is damn challenging, and it does allso include already a lot more "Depth" then CTU or TDRS. We still have to wait for updates on the game & development. The concept is very unique and alot of "serious" gamers took notice on the game in a very positive way with good feedback.

Greetings,
DC

So, yes.. we may get our beloved SWAT series revived by some random dudes wich finally took the effort to make it. Since 2k, sierra & activision wont be a answer to this we have to keep our fingers crossed. I dont believe that Activision will come around the corner with a SWAT 5 - if so its will just be a copy of Rainbow Six *cough* Siege.. The industry does sleep well on their money bags and forgot that todays gamers are very smart .. they dont want to eat the crap anymore of the big global players. So we have a situation where "Tacticool" games gets made of groups without a financial background, cuz they love what they do and they know we will throw our money at them. I made alot of prayers for a SWAT Series Sequel, i even opened a church back in the days on X fire for players wanting to do a prayer ^^ So the answer came about 7 years later but its still a good timing. All i want is a SWAT like game with new gfx, new toolz and new stuff in it and RoN seems to be legit to fullfill that. On the last devbolg ive seen that the game will bring more on the way i ever dreamed of. Looking forwardz to the Pre Order on steam!!!

Best regards,
DC

Good on you, DC. I'm in the same boat. I will most likely be playing RoN. I don't think it will be like Red Sabre at all, I own it but never played it as it was a gift. You can tell the efforts that are made to elevate the experience.

O'Neill 18-03-18 02:08 AM

Ah, it brings back memories of SWAT 4. The trailer looks awesome. I hope to see final release. [emoji16]

As I posted in another thread I hope this game does get released and is as good as the trailer shows. I prefer these type of games over others.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see if this is really going to be more than just an idea and actually a game that we can play. I think what Orion mention, about it being open beta type game, would be a good idea. Just need to have a way for users to give feedback in order to make that happen.

When I was on the site a week or two ago it was a bit of a let down because it did not appear to have any updates or time stamps showing when the last updates were. So it is not easy to track their progress on it.

The quadrupled the number of people working on it. They are opening up presale this summer with potential beta trial included with ful release in November. Sounds too good to be true, but I hope it is.

Matt 11-06-18 05:36 PM

Looks excellent... lets hope it is not like Takedown: Red Sabre... I hope not

Looks like THE Trailer has been delayed to the end of the month at least.. I think they will announce it along with the pre-order on steam that's why it's taking so long.. they say the real focus is the game development, that's where i have my hopes on! Really hope they can deliver a strong successor we've all been waiting for.

UPDATE: Ready or Not (in-case you missed it)

So its seems there is a bit more activity than usual around Void Interactive as they have released a tweet with the headline 'AWAKENS' and another image shortly after. Seems like a sign of things to come in the very near future, here's hoping the pre-orders are nearing arrival.

Here's the link to the tweet for you guys: AWAKENS

Ye absolutely - its getting a little frustrating with the unknown release but I understand the limits considering the small development team. It would be nice to see some preorder news in the next month or so.

TimC 28-02-19 04:38 AM

I'd like to see a demo out before making the decision if I would want to pre-order or buy the game. Want to make sure it is something I would actually play.

Hope the hype is worth it! :)

Demo is not always perfect to measure with it though, as sometimes the demo is much better then the original game as they make it that way.

And trailers is like a trailer from the movie, all the good things are already in the trailer the rest is just filling up, remember takedown trailer.

Let's hope so

Kinda hoping we will be setup as a clan really well from the word go in this game.

We have the funding, resource and ability to be at the forefront when the game is released.

Wouldn't want to be heading into this game without anyone else but our great bunch of members already in SOG!

Orion 08-03-19 02:07 PM

Well fook me! 2 more years... (((

Castner 08-03-19 06:27 PM

Considering their big build up to the gameplay trailer I honestly thought the release would have been so much closer, as such I really think they need some marketing/PR skill in their team because it is sorely lacking. Their 'supporter' edition price point at $120 is a low blow also, they have zero reputation to boast so it ends up being more of a gamble for such a high cost, they really could have done so much better.

I'm beginning to lose interest and while that may return with the game in 2020 - it is a long way to go.

Orion 08-03-19 07:37 PM

That is very true and this is why im not gonna preorder now. But if they would do it like devs of Escape from Tarkov did. Releasing Alpha and keep updating with patches regularly. Or like Elite dangerous with updates to keep player base playing and not getting bored waiting for the release.
Wellp mehh

:D

Very SWAT 4 like, with updated graphics!

Ninwes 09-03-19 04:11 PM

it's not a problem to wait 2 more years as long as the game is really like they promised.

There are games the date will be longer and everyone eager waiting and then all of a sudden it was not even worth the wait.

Agreed. I think the edition for $100 is a little overpriced... it makes me worry for the actual game... takedown was like this... and crap

Happy to wait, looks ok from the trailer. However I thought the officer movement looked stupid... they moved like idiots and clunky

Orion 14-03-19 03:10 PM

Im happy that I was wrong with my view on game developing. They do have Alpha and Beta access. Also they dropped price on supporter edition. 110 euro for it with early game versions. Dunno but sounds reasonable compared to BF4 that I bought for 150 euro with all DLC and didnt played even 100 hours lol
I think im up for it. WHat you guys thinking will you join as early operators or wait for few years for final release?

Castner 14-03-19 06:48 PM

I'm not touching this until release. My faith in their ability has diminished due to their lack of sense in marketing their game, throwing out a week long of screens, hashtags and teasers just to say "we'll be back in two years" is greatly disappointing. The gameplay trailer they promised ended up being more an explanation of RoN, rather than a tense run through of a difficult mission. Their Supporter edition is still overpriced despite their amendments, they should have just had it up at an $80 price tag and added the first free expansion since nobody is interested in credits, mouse mats and the soundtrack can easily be obtained. It should also be mentioned that I do not live in bloody America, dollars aren't my currency and that should be translated to factor their followers no matter where they live.

Simply put, their inexperience is showing now more than ever and it is not filling me with confidence. The proof will be in the pudding and I will see this particular pudding at the end of next year.

It's just so damn lazy!

Agreed one hundred percent mate. They need a big publisher like Activision. That is clearly what they are lacking....

Still trust in Void-Interactive?

Wow, yeah thats pretty :censored: suprising - a massive delay.
On the one hand gameplay material of mechanics, equipment, particles etc is presented (indicating a far development state). On the other hand, after big PR pause, delay of 2 years is declared, simultaneously asking for Pre-order funds... but already advertising Expansion Packs :wtf:

That is definitely no good sign - was there even an explanation/excuse for this decision!?

I did notice that as well in the first part of the video and it does look odd. Maybe they will fix that before it gets the full release?

I watched the
Youtube Video
from March 7th.

I know I'm a bit late on replying, just been busy with life lately.
