It's fully playable in CO-OP though. I mean, you can't fight literal aliens, I had to re-cast some men in suits to represent rogue N.I.D. agents who took over an offworld site and the SGC itself, with generic terrorist models as hostages for a change (because that's closest to the SG uniform within the basic SWAT4 set of equipment^^)

If it's fully playable could we try it? sounds so interesting that i am ready to no think about good graphic stuff :p

Sure, I'll see if I can dig it up. But O'Neill has to lead the team then!

Remember any of these places, O'Neill, Recon?

That's pretty good considering the limitations of the game.

Well, you were there, Tyrope.

Spec 10-02-18 02:15 PM

So, do any of you guys want to play that map? I can upload an updated version of it that fixes all known bugs and should work fine. I do not recommend playing with less than 4 players, it's a bit of a hard one.

Columbo 10-02-18 02:33 PM

Ha, nice a Stargate map. Whats the name of that map and whos the author?
I remember for Swat3 there were some Stargate maps made by "Twig Masters" but i cannot recall a Swat4 version, cool.

Nope, so i guess i didn't try it.

I am ready to play it, doesn't meter if you are done with all details ^^

Sorry for hijacking your thread, O'Neill =D If you want I can move these posts out!

@map: Sure, if someone hosts the map somewhere, and we have at least 3 people who can play, I'm good. I'm not happy with the visuals yet, but the layout is finished and everything works (normally^^)

Threads can run in different directions. [emoji23] You should make a thread about your custom map. ☺

Moved the posts to their own thread, hope that's all right =)

Sounds and looks like a nice map :)
Spec, is this your own map, did you build it from scratch?

Spec 13-02-18 04:39 PM

Well, I used only SWAT 4 assets, because I'm not a 3D artist, but yes, it's made by me.

I tried to base it as closely as possible on the blueprints of the SG-1 SGC stage. Obviously I had to make some changes, because the stage is built in a way that makes no sense for a real building (rooms without fourth walls, hallways that go nowhere etc), but the Command Room, Briefing Room, General's Office, Elevator Hallway and Gate Room are all pretty much identical to the show (albeit a bit less pretty). The blast door in front of the Gate Room windows is closed by default but can be opened in game.

I added a ventilation shaft system that is used by SWAT to access the building, gather intel, and pick an entrance route. N.I.D. personell have taken SGC employees hostage during a failed takeover of Stargate Command. A Stargate connection (two-way so you can go back to collect weapons, I couldn't implement dialing) is currently established to an alien world inhabited by humanoids. N.I.D. have taken military equipment to trade with the alien farmers for their supply of rare minerals and diamonds, the value of which is not known to them.
Forces behind this N.I.D. operation had originally planned to take over the SGC diplomatically (as has been tried in the show) to increase the military effort of the Stargate program. For unknown reasons, some SGC personell appear to have opened fire on the N.I.D., prompting a hostage situation on Earth during the ongoing off-world arms deal.

SWAT is in this case more likely to represent an SGC affiliated unit (maybe an Airforce police SWAT unit, or SG-1 itself ;) ) tasked with clearing up this situation and preventing the arms deal.

Is this you asking for an SG-1 uniform for SWAT4 player models? :P

Spec 13-02-18 05:38 PM

If you have any lying around, go ahead :P

Level's not yet optimized for TSS, but I think it would work

Columbo 13-02-18 05:38 PM

Thats some impressive work. And an interesting, unusual scenario :)

Looking forward checking out this map and go for some rounds.

Would anyone be willing to host this? I usually have tons of issues with port openings and stuff. Or maybe we can use an SOG server for an event.

EDIT:

In the attachement, anyone interested will find the current version of that map. I kept improving and expanding it over the last couple of days, if I don't upload it now, I'll never stop and it'll be twice as big eventually^^

Anyway, if anyone has the capability to host this, let me know.

Columbo 15-02-18 09:52 PM

Wow, that map is really nice. Also good AI placement, made thouroughly (not just added 100 sus across the map).
Also pretty much a"2in1" map :) ...

Just tested it once with AI. Did not notice bigger problems. In the control room there is a little glitch beneath the SGC logo at the wall, though.

Still looking forward to a little coop round with this map, if someone can put it on the server.

Greetings

Spec 16-02-18 04:57 AM

Hm, that geometry is a bit problematic, I'll try to see if I can fix that in an update.

I only had occasional lighting errors there, not what is shown on the screenshot. I'll need to replace the symbol, which is currently made with brushes, with a static object, which is relatively easily done.

Columbo 16-02-18 01:16 PM

Well, looking at it in the editor, there is an actual hole there in the wall.
Guess it happend during placing of the logo...?

Maybe just move the logo over it? :D

Spec 16-02-18 07:09 PM

Unreal's really a bitch about geometry. It wasn't there for me (you can see it in my earlier screenshot), maybe it happened during the last rendering process after I added geometry somewhere completely different, I'll take a look.

But glad that's the only issue you've found =D

Edit: Fixed! You're right, there was a hole, and it wasn't there before, it's one of these Unreal Engine things that just happens sometimes. Maybe it's because a wall somewhere entirely different was built.

Anyway, the updated version is now in the Downloads section.

Spec's Stargate map

Hey, what happend to the map? Where it has been uploaded/released? Can't find it in the download section here on the site and it also seems not to be part of any SOG packs there either.
Got only the Attachment (with the bug) you've provided earlier.

Greetings
