So....

Remember this from the old forums?

Show us your gaming rig....

- What laptop / pc / plane do you use to game or do your everyday activities.
- Show us a pic?
- Tell us the spec?

Does it fly? Does it make you a cuppa?

Do tell...

TO START.....

My life over the last ten years has changed with 4 kids. Therefore, gaming PC went out the window back in 2013, and I kept my Acer 6920G gaming laptop (which I used in the later years with SOG back then) for most my general needs.

However, last year I sold it (was was looking old) and changed it for the multi-use Microsoft Surface Book (2in1 tablet / laptop).

Do I use it for gaming?

Yep... it JUST about manages... (takes 3 minutes to load SWAT!!!)

Do I use it for anything else?

Yep.... I frequently use it as a high performance tablet as well as a laptop. Great machine!

I'm still on the same computer, as I had in SOG. I guess that means I did a good job building it. :D

ASUS P6T Deluxe
Intel Xeon X5690 - 3,46 GHz @ 4,0 GHz (6C12T)
24 GB Trippel Channel Architecture Memory
nVidia Geforce GTX 660
Samsung 850 Pro SSD 256 GB
Various Older Harddisk Drives for Storage
Samsung CHG90 32:9 3840 x 1080
Harman Kardon SoundSticks III

I have been really impressed with this computer. I build it as a semi-budget build in late 2008 (since my then-PC couldn't handle GTA IV), at a total cost of less than € 1.000. I've upgraded it minorly a few times (SSD, increase RAM from 6 to 24 GB, upgrade GFX card) at fairly low expense, and it still works excellently. It's stable, fast and runs every game I'd like to play at nice frame rates. :)

I've added a few tweaks over the years, like custom built a desk with custom made cable management and installed a power button as well as USB and network and 230V outlets countersunk into the actual desk, along with a shelf for auxilaries under the desk. :)

Got mine before few months of Arma 3 release. Thats around 5 years ago.

Heres my working horse:
i5-2500 @3.30GHz
RAM- 16gb
GTX960
Win 7 64bit

Im not much into fast paced games anymore and like solo or slow coop games those days. Just to chill after hard day ))) Some games and video editing here and there. But my addiction for realism and immersion made me do one crazy thing. And that is buying VR headset. Already a year ago I unpacked Vive and still every time I get into it and its hard to get out. Specs are barely minimum for VR ready pc. Runs Onward and Elite thats basically all I need for now

Made some modifications to it, to make it more comfortable. Used my old NVG headstrap plus some velcro strips. Bought few dog leashes and attached to sealing. No more wireson ground! Looks terrible but if it works it doesnt matter right? )) Maybe one day Ill get that TPcast- wirless adapter for headset

Also used old chair to attach HOTAS for Elite dangerous. Its my dream come true. Be a pirate in space! :)
