Hey guys and girls,
Some of the functionality, that you might miss from the old SOG forum, was done with BBcode; tags that you can use while posting. I've coded some of the tags, that were missing the most.
There's this feature which I've yet to see make an appearance. It has something to do with spoilers which *spoiler alert* aren't here.
This is very true. So I've added two types of spoiler tags;
[spoil] or [spoiler]
Both create a "censored" block of text that is revealed on mouseover or by selecting the text. It's an elegant way to hide spoilers inside a paragraph, since it works in-line (doesn't need a separate paragraph, like the old show/hide boxes used to).
Example:
I'd like to show you a new BBcode that you can use for adding spoilers to your texts.
I'd like to show you a new BBcode that you can use for adding spoilers to your texts.
[hide] or [hide="Title"]
These are the "show/hide" buttons, that our old forum had. You can use all BBcode inside it, so it's really handy for creating sections in a post that only apply to a few people, and thus doesn't need to be scrolled over for everyone.
Examples:
This content is hidden by a simple button.
This content is hidden by a much nicer button with a cool title.
This content is hidden by a simple button.
This content is hidden by a much nicer button with a cool title.

You know how, when you make lists, there's nothing more satisfying that scratching things off the list when you're done? But aww, vBulletin doesn't have that feature. :( SOG does now though! :)

Moderators Notes
Finally, there's a new tag for moderators to use. You're likely to see moderators use it, if there's a need to emphasize the moderation - for example if a user used foul language and needs a visible warning, but also to allow the moderators to better explain forum functions. For all you lovely people, we will clearly only ever need this because we can explain things much better with it. For example:
To embed a YouTube video, you should copy only the unique video ID, and paste that in the Youtube BBcode like so:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a1a1a1a1a&playlistandotherblah => 1a1a1a1a1a.
